Tofu Balls Recipe
Ingredients:
- Hard tofu (water should be pressed out beforehand): 250gm
- Shrimps (peeled and deveined): 150gm
- Finely chopped onions: 100gm
- Shishito (sweet green peppers): 20gm
- Fresh Coriander (chopped): to taste
- Egg: 1 medium
- Breadcrumbs: 40gm or more depending upon the type of tofu
- Salt/Pepper: to taste
- Nutmeg: to taste
- Paprika Powder: to taste
- Cumin powder (optional): to taste
Directions:
- Place a heavy object on tofu to press water out of it.
- In a mixing bowl, crush hardened tofu into fine pieces.
- Chop shrimps, onions and coriander. Combine them with tofu.
- Add egg, breadcrumbs and spices.
- Using your hand mix them swiftly until the mixture becomes smooth and a kind of sticky. Add more breadcrumbs if the mixture is still hard to shape.
- Shape the mixture into small balls.
- Heat oil in a pan at 170 degree centigrade.
- Fry the balls until they turn golden brown.
